Role Overview
The resort seeks a commercially astute Director of Sales to spearhead its global sales initiatives, positioning the property as a premier luxury lifestyle destination in the international luxury travel sector. This pivotal role focuses on accelerating revenue by strategically planning sales approaches, nurturing business growth, and building enduring client relationships. The Director will bolster the resort's visibility across luxury leisure, corporate, entertainment, and MICE markets worldwide.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive sales strategies aimed at maximizing revenue, expanding market share, and securing sustained business development.
- Guide and motivate a high-performance sales team centered on achievement, team collaboration, and ongoing growth.
- Stimulate business growth across vital segments such as Leisure, Corporate, Entertainment, MICE, Consortia, and Wholesale.
- Spot and pursue new business avenues, forging strategic alliances with luxury travel advisors, agencies, corporate clients, and industry stakeholders.
- Foster durable relationships with clients and travel partners to encourage repeat business and client loyalty.
- Work in conjunction with Revenue Management to refine pricing models, segment markets, forecast accurately, and enhance sales results.
- Coordinate with Marketing & Communications to create integrated sales campaigns, promotions, and brand activations aligned with commercial aims.
- Develop sales plans, budgets, forecasts, and strategies for business growth, and oversee their execution.
- Keep abreast of market developments, competitive movements, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
- Lead contract discussions and establish commercial agreements with strategic accounts and business partners.
- Represent the company at global trade fairs, luxury travel gatherings, sales missions, and networking events to promote brand presence.
- Monitor sales metrics and KPIs, utilizing analytics to inform action plans for improved performance.
- Collaborate with operations to ensure smooth transition from sales activities to superior guest experiences, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Manage departmental budgeting with an emphasis on optimum resource allocation and ROI.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, brand standards, and commercial regulatory frameworks.
- Support pre-opening commercial work including market positioning, account acquisition, and growth initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Sales, Marketing, or related fields; Master's degree preferred.
- At least 8 to 10 years of advancing sales leadership experience within luxury hospitality or lifestyle sectors.
- Demonstrated record of generating revenue growth and managing high-achieving sales teams.
- Deep familiarity with luxury travel distribution channels, international sales, and primary source markets.
- Experience with strategic account management, contract negotiation, and business development.
- Strong commercial insight coupled with financial and analytical capabilities.
- Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management aptitude.
- Proficiency in hotel sales platforms, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Comprehensive understanding of revenue management and ability to collaborate well with related teams.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; additional languages considered an asset.
- Previous experience in luxury hotel pre-opening phases is highly valuable.
- Proven track record working across ownership groups, corporate offices, and industry partners representing a luxury brand at an executive level.
