Position Overview

The Director of Operations will be instrumental as Tensec expands beyond three markets. This role demands oversight of complex operational components such as the treasury backend for real-time transactions, AI-enhanced compliance and onboarding workflows, development of the US market, and coordination of cross-functional operations to maintain efficiency and compliance across all corridors.

This is a leadership position focused on establishing operational capability rather than managing routine processes or projects. The Director will serve as the primary contact for operational, legal, and cross-functional inquiries from senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations and serve as the contact point for the COO, CPO, and senior management on operational and cross-functional matters.
• Provide guidance to the product team regarding operational and legal aspects of client onboarding; oversee legal reviews and ensure backend operations align with frontend commitments.
• Support the project management office to facilitate successful execution of cross-department initiatives.
• Manage the responsible deployment of AI tools within operational workflows, ensuring appropriate use in client-facing and internal processes.
• Develop the proprietary orchestration layer that integrates and enhances Tensec’s treasury infrastructure, enabling flexibility across various payment rails and markets.
• Oversee and expand the vendor ecosystem supporting operations in Asia, Europe, and other regions; handle partner evaluation, negotiation, and integration as new markets are entered.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to innovate and refine technology that automates and scales treasury functions.
• Advise on the design of risk frameworks supporting treasury operations, ensuring they empower risk ownership within the infrastructure.
• Lead the operational and legal preparation for Tensec’s US market launch planned for the second half of 2026, managing regulatory and banking dependencies.
• Monitor regulatory requirements related to AI governance and incorporate them into US market entry strategies to uphold transparency and accountability.
• Create and maintain dashboards, operational playbooks, and escalation protocols to provide leadership with real-time insights across markets.
• Act as the internal liaison for People & HR matters across jurisdictions in collaboration with the COO.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in operations, treasury, or financial infrastructure roles, ideally within fintech, payments, or regulated financial firms operating internationally.
• Strong builder mentality with foresight for scaling operations tenfold beyond current complexity.
• Curious and intellectually honest, quick to become subject matter expert and guide others.
• Demonstrates high ownership and agency by clarifying uncertain situations and resolving issues proactively.
• Comfortable managing multi-jurisdictional operations involving trade finance, AI-enabled treasury systems, and regulatory compliance.
• Fluent English required; Spanish or Portuguese proficiency preferred due to presence in Brazil and Mexico.
• Based in Miami, FL or New York, NY with willingness to travel.
• Experience at companies focused on cross-border payments, FX platforms, or trade finance within Latin America.
• Knowledge of AI compliance tools, treasury automation platforms, or treasury orchestration technology.
• Familiarity with US financial licensing such as MSB registration or state money transmitter frameworks.
