Job description
Overview
Koforidua Technical University is looking to employ an energetic, experienced, and self-driven professional as Deputy Director of Finance to lead and oversee all accounting, financial analysis, budget creation, and budget management activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Finance with overall management and administration as mandated by the Technical Universities Act, 2016 (Act 922).
- Coordinate preparation of the University's Consolidated Financial Statements and various financial reports.
- Compile quarterly Management Accounts and semester Financial Reports for the University.
- Supervise and review monthly financial reports from Faculties and Internally Generated Fund units.
- Oversee receivables, revenues, payables, and reconcile the Internally Generated Fund accounts.
- Ensure control and accurate maintenance of all financial transactions and accounting records in compliance with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and relevant government regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures.
- Lead preparation of the University’s operating budget, supervise long-term fiscal planning, coordinate annual audits, and produce monthly variance reports.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree with research focus in Finance, Accounting, or Accounting & Finance.
- Chartered Accountant designation with membership in a recognized professional body such as ACCA, ICA, CPA, CPFA, or CIMA.
- Minimum of six years’ experience as a Senior Accountant in a university setting, industry, or public practice, including at least six years in a managerial role.
- Submission of academic or professional publications, position papers, reports, or memoranda for evaluation by two External Assessors.
- Proficient with computer and accounting software applications, including financial modeling tools.

Location
This position is based in Koforidua, Eastern Region, Ghana.
