Data Privacy Officer

Role Objective

The Data Privacy Officer will undertake responsibilities related to data privacy compliance within Doha Bank, ensuring adherence to relevant policies, procedures, and applicable laws. The role involves supporting the development and management of the bank’s Data Privacy Program, ensuring compliance through effective mechanisms, and delivering staff training in collaboration with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute all operational tasks assigned by supervisors in line with local regulations and the bank’s approved policies.
• Assist in creating and implementing the bank’s data privacy framework aligned with relevant data protection laws and regulations.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to maintain compliance with data privacy legislation throughout the bank.
• Draft, review annually, and update data privacy policies, procedures, and notices to reflect legal, regulatory, and organizational changes.
• Support stakeholders in enforcing Data Privacy policies and procedures bank-wide.
• Help Privacy Champions and IT Application Managers maintain Records of Processing Activities and Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs).
• Conduct Data Privacy Impact Assessments for business processes and IT applications handling personal data of employees, customers, vendors, and others.
• Coordinate with business units to ensure all processes comply with internal Data Privacy policies and procedures.
• Work with IT Application owners to guarantee that IT systems processing personal data follow internal privacy policies and procedures.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or related fields.
• Between five and eight years of professional experience in financial services or banking sectors, particularly involving responsibilities linked to data privacy.
• Prior work experience specifically in Data Privacy, Data Protection, or data compliance within the financial services industry.
