Position Summary
This role offers a hybrid work model, requiring three days per week on-site in Alexandria, VA. As a Data Analyst focused on managing and analyzing data lakes, you will utilize innovative tools and techniques to extract actionable insights, create reports, and execute predictive analytics. Your analyses will support strategic decisions and organizational growth through effective use of data resources.
Responsibilities
- Design and apply predictive models to anticipate donor actions, fundraising dynamics, and community demands.
- Develop comprehensive reports and interactive dashboards.
- Examine data from CRM systems, donor records, and program results to derive useful insights.
- Manage and preprocess data relating to nonprofit initiatives.
- Collaborate with various teams to ascertain data requirements and devise collection methodologies.
- Partner with cross-functional groups to infuse data-driven strategies into operations.
- Explore and navigate the data lake to locate pertinent datasets for evaluation.
- Perform statistical assessments to evaluate program success and suggest enhancements.
- Craft concise reports and visual presentations to share findings with stakeholders, donors, and internal teams.
- Implement procedures to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
- Identify key data resources essential for high-value insights and future analytics.
- Utilize data insights to provide actionable recommendations.
- Supervise data governance processes to uphold consistency and quality.
- Validate data quality to support precise analysis and reporting.
- Contribute to the development of data dictionaries, standards, and training materials.
- Maintain and enhance databases, systems, and analytical tools.
- Apply statistical, machine learning, and AI methodologies for predictive analytics.
- Communicate complex analytical results in a clear manner to non-technical audiences.
- Translate detailed analytical discoveries into practical advice for diverse stakeholders.
- Keep abreast of developments and best practices in the data analysis field.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or related discipline such as mathematics, finance, statistics, economics, business, computer science, engineering, or information systems.
- Minimum of three years experience in a data analyst role or similar position.
- Proficiency with statistics, data set examination, and machine learning applications.
- Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and leadership qualities.
- Exceptional time management and communication skills with a dedication to the nonprofit mission.
- Hands-on experience with data analysis tools including SQL (mandatory), Python, R, Tableau, PowerBI, QuickSight, and GIS.
- Familiarity with Snowflake data platform.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective presentation skills and ability to work both independently and within teams.
Salary
The annual salary range for this position is $94,000 to $103,000, determined by factors such as experience, skills, and market conditions.
