Data Analyst II

Job Overview

Primary Talent Partners presents a contract role for a Data Analyst II with a major power and utilities firm based in Charlotte, NC. The position spans a 12-month contract, with possibilities for extension. The pay rate ranges from $47 to $52 per hour on a W2 contract basis, without PTO or benefits; however, an ACA-compliant supplemental package is available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US and able to be employed under Primary Talent Partners' W2 without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reporting, dashboards, and data warehouse solutions using Power BI and SSRS to support decision-making within Power Grid Operations.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with peers and internal clients to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Write SQL queries on Oracle or SQL Server databases to extract and analyze data.
• Develop and maintain DAX and MDX code for data modeling and analysis.
• Create and manage Power Automate workflows and Power Apps applications.
• Develop medium to complex data solutions using Power BI Service and Power BI Paginated Reports.
• Query and manage Tabular or Multi-dimensional models in Power BI or SQL Server Analysis Services.
• Coordinate with internal departments like Finance, Project Management, Lighting, and Resource Management to support solution delivery.
• Work collaboratively with IT for technical requests and support.
• Apply systematic approaches to resolve intricate business challenges and use project management techniques to successfully complete initiatives.
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of data warehousing principles, document warehouses for team cross-training, and create local data warehouses when necessary.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

• Familiarity with Agile methodology.
• Experience programming in Python.
• Knowledge of Power BI Data Flows.
• Ability to analyze metrics effectively.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Experience in database design, creating tables/views, and writing stored procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint platforms.
• Experience creating and maintaining tabular models and cubes in Power BI or SSAS.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities.
