As the initial point of contact, you will be instrumental in making a positive impression and assisting customers with their deliveries. This position involves varied, hands-on work and offers a dynamic daily routine. Although you largely operate autonomously on your delivery routes, support from managers and colleagues is readily available at the base.
Key Duties
- Deliver exceptional home shopping service by placing the customer at the center of all activities.
- Assist with loading the delivery van and ensure the vehicle is roadworthy before departure.
- Follow the provided delivery schedule and route carefully to maintain efficiency.
- Maintain a professional appearance with the provided uniform, always ready to assist customers.
- Operate the vehicle safely, responsibly, and in full compliance with traffic laws.
- Exhibit courtesy towards all road users.
- Engage warmly with customers, addressing them personally and serving with a friendly demeanor.
- Handle customer deliveries with the utmost care, as if they were your own.
Candidate Requirements
- Hold a valid Irish or EU driving licence (manual or automatic) continuously for at least two years, with no more than three penalty points.
- Demonstrate safe driving habits and courteous behavior while on the road.
- Possess a genuine interest in helping others and excellent interpersonal communication skills with a sense of humor.
- Exhibit initiative and sound judgment to handle various situations independently.
- Show commitment to positively impacting both customers and colleagues alike.
- Maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.
Additional Recruitment Notes: Employment offers are contingent upon successful Garda Vetting and verification of current penalty points through the National Driver Licence Services (NDLS). Candidates disqualified from driving within the past ten years are ineligible. A bank account must be provided prior to the start date.
Compensation and Benefits
- Flexible shift patterns available, offering part-time to full-time contracts ranging from 20 to 39 hours weekly.
- Starting pay rate is €18.24 per hour for new drivers, with additional premiums for Sunday shifts.
- Participation in an annual bonus program.
- Access to the Colleague Clubcard featuring discounts: 10% store/online discount, 15% discount on designated weekends monthly, 20% off twice yearly, and continuous 20% savings on F&F clothing. Family members at the same address can also benefit from a second Clubcard.
- Complimentary use of a Virtual GP service for confidential medical consultations and prescriptions, extended at reduced cost to family members.
- 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme providing emotional support and wellness services under the Wellbeing First initiative.
- Life assurance coverage.
- Eligibility for pension plans, Save As You Earn schemes, paid family leave, bike-to-work and commuter schemes, and long service awards where applicable.
