About Thesis
Thesis is a premium one-on-one personal training company serving busy professionals such as lawyers, executives, and founders in the Washington DC metro area. The company focuses on evidence-based coaching with sessions across three locations, driven by client results and word-of-mouth growth.
Role Overview
As the inaugural in-house Content Producer, you will control the end-to-end creation of content that represents the company’s genuine training approach. This role is focused on producing high-quality video and written material without relying on gimmicks or viral trends. Your work will translate the real fitness achievements on the gym floor into compelling media.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire editorial calendar, publishing 5-6 short-form videos weekly (Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts), one major long-form video or in-depth article monthly, a weekly post on Google Business Profile, and a monthly newsletter email.
- Conduct two batch filming days per week on-site, including early mornings to capture prime activity, and allocate one day for editing.
- Handle shooting and editing duties using company-provided professional equipment to ensure premium visual output.
- Build a comprehensive library of client transformations and data-supported case studies, including formats that protect client anonymity when necessary.
- Coordinate client consent meticulously, managing media releases and opt-in permissions to ensure compliance.
- Develop 3-4 trainers to serve regularly on camera, fostering on-screen ability without pressuring those uncomfortable on film.
- Repurpose content extensively; a flagship piece should create multiple derivative assets like short videos, emails, and social media posts.
- Oversee a modest monthly paid promotion budget ($500–1,000) to amplify effective content locally, ensuring campaigns remain fresh and targeted.
- Report monthly using a straightforward scorecard covering output consistency, engagement metrics, branded search traffic, and source attribution from CRM data.
Required Qualifications
- Between 2 and 4 years of experience shooting and editing short-form branded video content. Submission of a demo reel is mandatory.
- Proficient editing skills with CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or a similar program, and competent still photography capability.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to independently own the content production process without the need for daily approvals or micromanagement.
- Comfortable filming around active gym members and exercising sound judgment concerning privacy.
- Availability for early morning shoot sessions on select days weekly.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with long-form content creation on YouTube.
- Background in fitness, sports, or health-related content production, with familiarity in exercise techniques.
- Experience with email marketing or CRM-driven publishing tools, specifically GoHighLevel is a plus.
- B2B or LinkedIn content creation background.
Initial 90-Day Plan
- Weeks 1-2: Observe gym operations, meet trainers, establish brand voice, and implement content consent processes.
- Weeks 3-4: Begin publishing short videos and establish a filming routine.
- Month 2: Achieve full weekly publishing cadence, deliver the first flagship content, identify a recurring trainer cast.
- Month 3: Launch a content performance scorecard and present success metrics and improvement ideas.
Company Culture and Tone
The brand voice is calm, considered, and evidence-based, steering clear of misleading hype, superficial gym selfies, or transformation shaming. Content is held to a standard fitting a high-end training studio with premium pricing.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range from $65,000 to $85,000 depending on experience, plus benefits.
- Complimentary personal trainer sessions in company studios.
- Budget for professional gear and complete creative channel ownership.
- Regular support from the founder including dedicated weekly time and monthly interviews without micromanagement.
