The business is built around collaboration, continuous learning, and strong teamwork, and it is looking for a detail-focused compliance professional to join its compliance function in Sydney.
Role summary
This position suits a risk and compliance specialist with 3 to 7 years of experience. You will work closely with a knowledgeable and supportive team while helping protect the firm’s regulatory standing and contributing to the wider success of the business.
Key responsibilities
- Keep the firm aligned with all financial services regulatory duties, including licence conditions and required filings across relevant jurisdictions.
- Track ongoing compliance obligations in each applicable jurisdiction and maintain the incident, breach, and compliance registers.
- Plan and coordinate recurring compliance reviews, covering scoping, testing, issue identification, and remediation follow-up.
- Prepare, update, and refine compliance policies and procedures so they remain current with regulatory changes in all relevant jurisdictions.
- Deliver compliance training to new employees and run periodic refresher sessions for the team.
- Compile quarterly Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee materials, including reports, packs, and meeting minutes.
- Provide compliance support and practical advice to the General Counsel and broader business.
- Serve as the nominated AML/CTF Compliance Officer, oversee the effectiveness of the AML/CTF program, manage the fund administrator relationship, and ensure AUSTRAC obligations are met.
- Take ownership of all KYC requirements for the business.
- Oversee outsourced compliance vendors operating across different jurisdictions.
- Help sustain a culture built on compliance, integrity, and accountability.
Candidate profile
The firm is seeking a proactive team player who can work independently in a small, high-performing environment and juggle competing priorities without close supervision. Strong communication skills, excellent judgement, and a high standard of professionalism are essential.
Experience and qualifications
- 3 to 7 years of compliance experience within a funds management business in Australia or Singapore.
- An undergraduate degree in business, finance, law, or a related field.
- Practical experience with regulatory filing obligations across one or more jurisdictions, with familiarity in ASIC and/or MAS requirements.
- Good understanding of compliance frameworks, AML/CTF obligations, KYC, and governance processes.
- Knowledge of trustee obligations and governance practices will be an advantage.
- Ability to produce clear policy documents, committee papers, and regulatory correspondence, and to lead training sessions confidently.
- Strong attention to detail, integrity, and a professional approach.
- Comfortable building effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external service providers such as outsourced compliance vendors and fund administrators.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly.
- A willingness to learn, ask questions, and actively seek feedback.
