Our Team

Fanatics Betting and Gaming, launched in 2021, serves as the digital and retail sports betting arm of the company, catering to 95% of the U.S. online sports betting market. Services include the Fanatics Sportsbook and Fanatics Casino, operating in multiple U.S. states and 22 physical retail locations, including the exclusive NFL stadium sportsbook at Northwest Stadium. The division's headquarters is in New York with other offices in Denver, Leeds, and Dublin.

Role Overview

The Compliance Analyst will aid in the design, execution, and continuous refinement of Fanatics Betting & Gaming's regulatory compliance system as the business grows in Canada. The position supports maintaining a scalable compliance infrastructure addressing gaming laws, financial crime prevention, consumer protections, and regulatory mandates.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining compliance frameworks suitable for international operations.
• Draft and update internal policies, procedures, control measures, and documents to uphold regulatory compliance.
• Help implement monitoring programs and operational controls throughout the organization.
• Support licensing, audits, and regulatory examinations with gaming authorities and lawmakers.
• Coordinate with multiple internal departments such as Product, Payments, Marketing, Operations, Responsible Gaming, and Legal to ensure conformity with regulations and industry norms.
• Track and report regulatory changes affecting multiple jurisdictions.
• Support the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF) compliance framework based on FINTRAC and relevant legislation.
• Assist in customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity escalation.
• Prepare and maintain regulatory reports and compliance documentation.
• Conduct compliance tests, ongoing monitoring, and risk assessments to pinpoint areas for improvement.
• Identify efficiency opportunities in workflows to minimize compliance risk.
• Effectively manage multiple projects and maintain clear communications.
• Provide compliance support for new product introductions and geographical expansion efforts.
• Offer continual guidance and support on compliance matters across the organization.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in compliance, AML, risk management, operations, audit, or regulatory support roles.
• Knowledge and experience applying Artificial Intelligence within operational or compliance processes.
• Preferably experienced in online gaming, casino, sportsbook, fintech, payments, or financial services sectors.
• Familiarity with international gaming regulatory frameworks, particularly Ontario and Alberta, is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of FINTRAC requirements and AML/ATF obligations.
• Strong written communication skills capable of conveying complex information clearly.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and documentation abilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on operational accuracy and excellence.
• Ability to adapt and succeed in an evolving, ambiguous environment.
• Committed to thoroughness in assigned responsibilities.
• Strong collaborative skills and ability to work independently and across teams.
• Quick learner with a curious mindset ready to tackle intricate regulatory and operational challenges.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Legal, Communications, or a related discipline.
• Relevant certifications such as CAMS are a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is CAD 60,000 to CAD 72,000. Compensation varies by geographical location and is inclusive of base salary and bonus opportunities. More detailed information about employee benefits is available through internal resources.
