Communications Advisor

Role Overview

A mid-level opportunity has opened for an internal communications specialist to join a large organisation on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will contribute to strategic communication efforts aimed at boosting employee engagement and strengthening the company’s brand and reputation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and regularly update content on the company intranet ensuring information is accurate and clearly presented.
• Create diverse internal communications such as updates, quick guides, posts, FAQs, and leadership messages.
• Support various business units with tactical communication needs and provide expert advice on communication strategies and timing.
• Produce, edit, and source internal corporate communications including news articles, key talking points, manager toolkits, briefings, scripts, FAQs, and video content.
• Assist with communications directed from company leadership.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess tertiary qualifications in communication, journalism or public relations.
• Previous experience in internal or corporate communications is essential.
• Excellent writing skills emphasizing clarity, simplicity, and correctness.
• Good judgment and confidence in advising stakeholders on communication priorities and approaches.
• Ability to work independently, with appropriate issue escalation.
• Talent for converting complex information into engaging, business-wide messages.
• Familiarity with Canva or comparable platforms for basic graphic design.
• Interest in producing video and short-form media content.
• Strong skills in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
• High attention to detail and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive, inquisitive nature with comfort in seeking clarification.
• Collaborative mind-set and willingness to contribute to team efforts.
