Role Summary

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for managing the daily functioning of GBM Asset Management, ensuring that business operations, infrastructure, and resources effectively support the firm’s growth plans and investment methods. This full-time remote position involves leadership of operations across trading, middle office, technology, compliance coordination, and business support. The COO partners with senior leaders to strategize and execute plans, develop and enhance operational frameworks, implement policies and controls, oversee budgets, and track performance metrics aimed at operational excellence and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead operations including trading, middle office, technology, compliance, and business support teams.
• Partner with senior leadership on strategic planning and implementation.
• Create and refine operational processes and controls.
• Manage budgeting processes and monitor financial performance.
• Collaborate with investment, risk, finance, and investor relations teams to enhance workflow efficiency, data quality, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and industry standards.
• Mentor and lead operations staff while fostering continuous improvement and innovation.
• Drive initiatives supporting scalability and operational enhancements.

Required Qualifications

• Proven strategic leadership with experience in business planning and execution of multi-year operating strategies.
• Extensive operations management experience within asset management, hedge funds, or financial services, including process and systems optimization.
• Advanced analytical capabilities to evaluate complex data, operational risk, and support strategic decision making.
• Strong finance and budgeting skills including cost management and financial reporting.
• Experience working closely with investment teams, trading operations, or risk management, preferably with an international or Asia market focus.
• Competency in managing distributed teams remotely, building cross-functional relationships, and effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management, process improvement, and implementing technological solutions to scale operations efficiently.
• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related disciplines; an advanced degree such as an MBA or professional certifications like CFA are advantageous.
