Role Overview
At Rosewood Red Sea, the Chief Butler oversees the Butler Service department, ensuring the provision of highly personalized, seamless, and distinguished service to guests throughout villas, suites, and specific guest spaces. This pivotal role delivers tailored guest experiences by anticipating needs and guaranteeing precise, discreet, and consistent execution of service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily Butler Service operations to provide exceptional, individualized, and proactive guest assistance.
- Supervise Butler activities across villas, suites, and designated areas ensuring operational excellence.
- Verify villas and suites before guest arrivals to meet service excellence and presentation requirements.
- Organize amenities, welcome gifts, floral arrangements, fruit baskets, and special setups ensuring timely, accurate delivery.
- Maintain and apply detailed guest preferences, profiles, and service histories consistently.
- Collaborate closely with departments including Housekeeping, Front Office, Concierge, Food & Beverage, Spa, Laundry, Engineering, and Floristry for flawless service delivery.
- Manage room preparations and respond to special guest requests, celebrations, and VIP arrangements.
- Monitor guest satisfaction levels and address any service issues or complaints promptly with professionalism.
- Ensure adherence to company-approved Butler programs and operating procedures.
- Keep precise operational logs including guest requests, service records, and follow-up actions.
- Oversee the availability and quality of guest supplies, amenities, and unique request items for Butler services.
- Monitor and ensure proper use, maintenance, and presentation of resort buggies used by the Butler team.
- Manage staffing plans, scheduling, and coverage according to villa occupancy and guest needs.
- Control departmental inventory and resource usage to maintain efficiency and minimize waste.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Butler team to sustain high service standards and optimize team performance.
- Conduct regular briefings, training sessions, and performance evaluations with team members.
- Review and revise Butler standard operating procedures and work protocols as necessary.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, responsibility, professionalism, and excellence within the department.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 5 to 7 years’ experience in Butler services, luxury guest operations, or front-of-house roles, including minimum 2 to 3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Prior work experience in luxury or ultra-luxury resorts, hotels, or branded residences is highly advantageous.
- Deep knowledge of villa and suite service, guest customization, and luxury service delivery.
- Proven leadership capabilities in managing and growing Butler teams within premium service environments.
- Comprehensive operational expertise involving guest preferences, room preparation, amenity coordination, and service flow.
- Experienced collaboration with departments such as Housekeeping, Front Office, and Food & Beverage.
- Pre-opening experience is considered a plus.
- Excellent leadership, instructional, and coaching skills.
- High professional standards, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Confident management of VIP guests, special requests, and service recovery situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
