Role Overview
The Care Partner will work as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team supporting clients with eating disorders. This role focuses on implementing treatment interventions with thoughtfulness, flexibility, respect, and positivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with admissions and manage calls as necessary.
- Facilitate coordination between patients, families, and treatment teams.
- Plan and provide structure for client-specific experiential activities.
- Conduct virtual sessions and check-ins with clients and families.
- Offer motivation and support to families throughout treatment.
- Demonstrate proper table behaviors to clients struggling with eating disorders.
- Provide personalized coaching to families on managing clients' behaviors.
- Use between-session messaging to provide real-time feedback and encouragement to clients and families.
- Notify medical and clinical staff promptly during emergencies.
- Ensure strict confidentiality of client information.
- Engage in regular multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
- Lead or participate in group sessions as needed.
- Attend supervision, departmental meetings, and ongoing training.
- Manage cases by maintaining communication with recovery stakeholders including schools, law enforcement, and legal representatives.
- Document client interactions accurately and within required timelines.
- Perform additional duties as required based on program needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Associate degree in behavioral health or related field, or two years of relevant experience.
- Empathy and respect in patient treatment.
- Strong listening and communication capabilities.
- Keen observation skills.
- Proficient in computer use.
- Willingness to work with clients with eating or disordered eating issues.
- Understanding of eating disorder theories, trauma, and mental health conditions.
- Cultural competency, including sensitivity to gender and diversity issues.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and work independently.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Dependable internet connection.
- Comfort with operating computers and smartphones in macOS and iOS environments.
- Effective communication using chats, calls, and video conferencing.
- Ability to remain seated for most of the work period.
- Workspace must be private, quiet, and free from distractions as the role is full remote work from home.
