Business Operations Analyst

Role overview

Inizio Engage’s Decision Optimization team is a commercial analytics and decision sciences group focused on helping life sciences organizations make better business decisions using data, advanced analytics, and strategic guidance. The team supports pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device clients across areas such as sales force effectiveness, customer engagement, forecasting, commercial operations, and broader business strategy.

This position is central to the financial and operational stability of the business. The analyst will act as the main partner for financial operations, working with leadership, project teams, Finance, and shared services to manage reporting, budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, and operational support. The role blends financial analysis with day-to-day operational coordination to improve business performance and internal efficiency.

Financial operations

• Act as the main point of contact for financial operations support across Decision Optimization project teams.
• Work with Finance to support monthly revenue recognition, invoicing, forecasting, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Track project performance indicators such as revenue, margin, utilization, and profitability.
• Build monthly reporting packs, including budget-versus-actual reviews and variance explanations.
• Contribute to annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning.
• Monitor purchase orders, client billing, and project reconciliations.
• Help with accounts receivable tracking and collections follow-up when needed.
• Support pricing decisions for new business opportunities and contract changes.

Business operations

• Assist with operational planning, including resource forecasting and staffing visibility.
• Coordinate with shared services teams to keep finance and operations workflows running smoothly.
• Look for ways to improve processes through automation, better reporting, and standardization.
• Help create operational dashboards and KPI frameworks.

Analytics and decision support

• Review financial and operational information to spot trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
• Create leadership-ready reports and presentations for executives and stakeholders.
• Maintain recurring dashboards covering revenue, backlog, utilization, pipeline, and profitability.
• Support ad hoc analysis and other strategic initiatives as needed.
• Turn financial and operational findings into practical process improvement recommendations.

Cross-functional collaboration

• Build strong working relationships with Finance, Business Development, Project Leadership, and Shared Services.
• Assist with audits and financial compliance activities when required.
• Contribute to special projects that support the company’s continued growth.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is USD 70,000 to USD 80,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
