Job description
Role Overview
The Business and Economic Development Officer plays a crucial role in driving the priorities of the Council's Economic Development Strategy and its action plans. The role focuses on engagement with local businesses, understanding their requirements, and coordinating initiatives that foster economic prosperity and support training and educational pathways. Delivering excellent customer service and creating value for the community are essential aspects of this position.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a degree in Business, Economics, Commerce, Project Management, or a related discipline and/or have substantial relevant contemporary experience with continuous professional growth.
- Hold a current Class C Drivers Licence.
- Demonstrate experience collaborating with businesses and industries to stimulate growth and development.
- Exhibit strong skills in managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and adhering to budgets.
- Have an in-depth understanding of grant application and management procedures.
- Show proven capabilities in relationship management, advocacy, negotiation, and influencing, especially with government bodies and industry organizations.
- Have expertise in complex problem-solving, conducting thorough research and analysis, and preparing insightful reports and business recommendations.
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting salary can reach up to $100,500 annually, with opportunities to advance to a maximum of $116,500 based on skills and performance evaluations.
- Includes 12% superannuation contributions.
- Permanent full-time employment.
- Access to a 9-day fortnight working schedule.
- Flexible work arrangements allowing two days remote work and three days onsite.
- Position is based at the Wyong Administration Building.
