Job Overview

As a Business Analyst working on a 12-month fixed term contract based in Brisbane, you will collaborate with both business and technical stakeholders to grasp business needs, analyze current workflows, define precise requirements, and contribute to digital transformation projects. Your role is pivotal in converting business goals into concrete and implementable solutions to enhance workflow efficiency, service quality, and project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business processes, customer journeys, and operational demands.
• Lead workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions to gather, scrutinize, and validate requirements.
• Create detailed documentation including current and future process states, user stories, use cases, and specifications both functional and non-functional.
• Analyze current systems to spot opportunities for process enhancement, standardization, and simplification.
• Work closely with architects, developers, project managers, and technical teams to translate business needs into solution designs.
• Support activities such as solution evaluation, requirements traceability, impact assessments of changes, testing, business readiness, and transitions.
• Manage stakeholder communication effectively across various teams.
• Ensure all business analysis work aligns with project aims, governance, and best practices.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven background as a Business Analyst implementing digital transformation, application migration, or technology-driven business improvements.
• Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement and facilitation, capable of clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with eliciting, documenting, and handling business, functional, non-functional, integration, reporting, and security requirements.
• Competence in creating business process models, user stories, use cases, and process maps using modern analytical techniques.
• Experience aiding solution design, testing, business readiness, and change management throughout project lifecycles.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills to handle competing priorities.
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies and contemporary business analysis frameworks.
• Collaborative mindset with a focus on delivering practical, business-driven outcomes and ongoing improvements.
