Business Analyst II

About the Role

Our client is a leading financial institution with extensive operations across North America in sectors including institutional & corporate, wealth management, private clients, commercial banking, treasury, and retail banking. They are seeking a Business Analyst II for a contract role based in Toronto, ON, with a hybrid work setting.

Contract Details

• Contract duration: 3 months with potential for extension or conversion
• Location: Toronto, ON (hybrid work model)
• Work hours: Monday to Friday during core business hours
• Compensation: Starting at $38 per hour

Responsibilities

• Lead a structured business analysis process to plan, elicit, analyze, document, and manage business requirements during all project phases
• Utilize diverse elicitation techniques, such as workshops, interviews, process walkthroughs, and document analysis, to clarify and validate requirements with stakeholders
• Document and validate current business processes, collaborate with partners to design future state processes using IBM TRIRIGA best practices
• Serve as a vital link between business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure accurate translation of business needs
• Develop functional and system requirements, including testing strategies and artifacts
• Partner with technology and business stakeholders to recommend effective solutions, configuration, and delivery within the TRIRIGA platform
• Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies related to requirements proactively
• Anticipate and handle downstream impacts on delivery, operations, and business readiness from requirements changes
• Support quality assurance by aiding test scenario and script development, participating in system and user acceptance testing, and communicating defects
• Operate independently with minimal supervision while managing priorities and stakeholder expectations in a complex enterprise environment

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years as a Business Analyst
• Hands-on involvement with workflow-driven enterprise platforms, especially IBM TRIRIGA
• Experience with Pega or similar case management/workflow applications
• Understanding of workflow-based systems including process flows, approvals, states, and lifecycle management
• Knowledge of how enterprise platforms govern business processes through configuration and the trade-offs between out-of-the-box functionality and customization
• Ability to analyze and comprehend end-to-end process flow and system behavior directly within applications
• Skilled in translating platform capabilities into structured functional documentation and process designs
• Proven experience creating detailed process flows, functional requirements, and system descriptions
• Experience working in complex, cross-functional enterprise teams including collaboration with business and technology units
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
• Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills essential
