Business Analyst (Data Analyst)

Position Overview

We seek a meticulous Business Analyst to enhance data-driven decision-making at an agriculture-focused company in Pasadena, California. This role involves converting intricate business data into clear reports, actionable insights, and scalable dashboards to boost operational clarity. The ideal individual thrives working directly with large datasets, balancing routine reporting tasks with in-depth analytical projects, and automating manual reports using Power BI and advanced Excel tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and improve Power BI dashboards and recurring reports providing precise business insights promptly.
• Automate manual Excel reporting into dynamic, refreshable visualization and analytics solutions.
• Examine extensive datasets to uncover patterns, key business factors, and areas for performance enhancement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements, clarify business questions, and translate them into actionable analyses.
• Utilize advanced Excel features including pivot tables, Power Query, and macros for reporting, validation, and ad-hoc analysis support.
• Handle daily analytical requests alongside long-term projects with evolving priorities and deadlines.
• Apply structured problem-solving and critical thinking to address data discrepancies and enhance report quality.
• Evaluate business processes and identify reporting gaps, proposing more efficient and scalable analytics solutions.
• Support geospatial or location-based analyses using GIS tools like ArcGIS as needed.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of three years' experience in business analysis, data analysis, sales analytics, manufacturing, or similar data-intensive environments.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including macros, Power Query, and pivot tables.
• Proven experience creating reports and dashboards with Power BI.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities capable of independently interpreting complex data sets.
• Ability to manage both standard operational reporting and strategic analytics projects effectively.
• Experience with business analysis techniques such as gap analysis, document review, or ad-hoc analyses.
• Preferred bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related disciplines.
• Familiarity with GIS or mapping software like ArcGIS is advantageous.
