Barista

Role overview

We are looking for an upbeat Barista to support a busy catering operation at Bristol Central Library in Bristol, England. You will work within the front-of-house team, helping create a welcoming experience for visitors while serving drinks and keeping the café running smoothly.

What you will do

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and other beverages.
• Provide warm, friendly service to everyone visiting the café.
• Operate the till and handle transactions accurately.
• Clear tables and keep the service area tidy.
• Maintain strong cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the shift.
• Manage cash responsibly.
• Support stock control activities.

Working pattern

This is a standalone position, so you will work independently during shifts. The normal weekly schedule is 36.5 hours across 5 days out of 7, with shifts set as Tuesday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 and Saturday from 09:30 to 16:30.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate has prior experience as a Barista or Café Waiter and enjoys delivering excellent service. You should be confident greeting guests, serving drinks with care, and taking ownership of decisions that benefit visitors. Strong communication, teamwork, reliability, timekeeping, and the ability to stay calm and efficient during busy periods are important. A genuine interest in coffee culture and a safety-first mindset are also essential.

Pay and benefits

The salary for this role is £24,216 per year.
