About the Role
Join our Food Services Team at Aramark Canada as a Baker based in St. Catharines, Ontario. You'll enjoy working in a dynamic environment where you can explore various baking techniques and flavors using top-tier equipment. Your role involves following established recipes and health guidelines to create delicious bakery items while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a diverse range of food items by adhering to production standards and standardized recipes.
- Set up your workstation with necessary ingredients and baking tools before starting production.
- Measure, weigh, mix, and chop ingredients accurately as part of the food preparation process.
- Operate baking equipment such as ovens, stoves, and mixers effectively and safely.
- Use kitchen utensils, including knives, with proper care and safety measures.
- Store food items in compliance with food safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a positive and professional attitude towards guests, coworkers, and clients.
- Follow all company safety protocols including food safety, sanitation, and security of company assets.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working as a baker or in a related culinary role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, industry standards, and food safety regulations including proper handling, storage, and sanitation.
- Food safety certification(s) required; obtaining certification upon hiring is expected.
- Basic math skills including counting and measuring ingredients accurately.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Additional Information
This position may require physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing or walking for extended periods. Wearing uniforms and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required as well.
