About the Role
CSN Collision is seeking a capable leader to oversee the daily operations of a collision repair center in Port Colborne, Ontario. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for ensuring the autobody repair processes meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards while delivering excellent customer service. This position demands a blend of technical autobody expertise, strong leadership skills, and customer engagement experience.
Primary Duties
- Lead and supervise a diverse team including autobody technicians, painters, estimators, and administrative personnel.
- Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and support to maximize team performance and foster professional development.
- Manage and prioritize workflow, coordinate job scheduling, and optimize resource allocation to ensure timely completion of repair projects.
- Oversee quality assurance procedures by conducting thorough inspections and addressing any repair deficiencies.
- Maintain active communication with customers to assess repair needs, furnish accurate estimates, update progress, and resolve any issues or complaints.
- Handle inventory management of parts and supplies, build supplier relationships, and negotiate pricing for cost-effective procurement.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols, industry regulations, and environmental standards.
- Administer the centre's financial operations including budgeting, cost control, and performance analysis to enhance profitability.
Requirements
- Previous experience in autobody repair, ideally with supervisory or managerial responsibilities in a collision center or automotive setting.
- Strong knowledge of autobody repair methods, materials, and equipment.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal abilities to guide and motivate staff.
- Excellent customer service skills focused on maintaining positive client relationships.
- Comfortable using computerized estimating systems and relevant software tools.
- Highly organized with effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with industry safety regulations and standards.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
