As an Applied Scientist within the logistics team, you will engage in research-driven development of algorithmic software solutions. The role focuses on improving warehouse efficiency by addressing complex stochastic optimization challenges that meld combinatorial optimization with data science, impacting scheduling, planning, and routing for millions of customer orders weekly.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the research, design, and implementation of advanced algorithms and predictive modeling techniques.
• Deliver complete end-to-end software solutions, including research, prototyping, production development, testing, and maintaining high-availability systems.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Holds a Master's or PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, or related quantitative fields with practical experience in operational research and machine learning contexts.
• Possesses solid understanding of diverse algorithmic approaches, including combinatorics, graph theory, control theory, as well as mathematical modeling methods from operations research and statistics, and machine learning techniques such as forecasting and Bayesian networks.
• Demonstrates a passion for complex mathematical problem solving with an emphasis on real-world application.
• Experience with microservice-based software engineering or data processing is advantageous.
• Exhibits strong teamwork and communication skills in agile, cross-functional settings involving engineers, product owners, and scientists.
