Role Summary
The Loan Servicing Analyst is tasked with handling Statutory and GAAP accounting and reporting related to Mortgage and Real Estate portfolios for Credit and Insurance clients. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining a SOC 1 controlled environment, contributing to the expanding credit operations team, and reports directly to the Director of Mortgage Loan Servicing.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with onboarding and configuring residential and commercial mortgage loans in servicing platforms.
- Process daily loan servicing activities such as borrower payments, adjustments, and updating loan statuses.
- Verify loan documentation completeness and accuracy, inputting relevant data into internal systems.
- Keep loan records current to maintain data integrity across systems.
- Conduct basic reconciliations of mortgage-related accounts, raising discrepancies where necessary.
- Monitor loan activities, identifying and aiding in resolving routine servicing exceptions.
- Generate and distribute regular loan-related reports covering balances, payments, and transactions.
- Ensure adherence to internal operational procedures and applicable regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with teams such as servicing, accounting, underwriting, and customer support to facilitate daily operations.
- Communicate with external stakeholders including borrowers, correspondents, and vendors for documentation and query resolution.
- Support audit processes, quality control audits, and information collection.
- Maintain well-organized documentation of loan files and servicing activities.
- Proactively identify improvements to enhance data accuracy and processing efficiency, providing feedback to management.
- Perform other operational and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, accounting, real estate, or related discipline; equivalent work or internship experience considered.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in mortgage servicing, loan operations, banking, or financial services.
- Proficient with Aladdin, Precision LM, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with aptitude for quickly learning new systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Basic knowledge of residential and/or commercial mortgage products is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with capacity for accurate document review and data entry.
- Effective organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Adherence to established procedures ensuring compliance with internal controls.
- Analytical thinking to identify discrepancies and escalate issues properly.
- Team player who is motivated to learn and contribute collaboratively.
- Self-driven, reliable, and enthusiastic about growth within mortgage operations.
