Role overview

This position is for an Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager in EHS, based in Hyderabad, and associated with L&T. The role focuses on ensuring that site-wide environmental, health, and safety practices are implemented effectively across the project.

Key responsibilities

• Roll out and continuously track the EHS management system throughout the project.
• Make sure the site remains aligned with legal requirements, the BOCW Act, client expectations, and internal EHS policies.
• Perform routine safety checks, audits, hazard identification exercises, Job Safety Analysis, and risk assessments.
• Oversee high-risk work activities including work at height, lifting, excavation, confined space entry, hot work, electrical tasks, and permit-to-work controls.
• Lead safety induction sessions, toolbox meetings, mock drills, and safety awareness programs for employees and contractors.
• Review accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, then drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure correct PPE usage and maintain readiness for emergencies, fire protection, and first-aid support.
• Keep statutory records, safety files, permit logs, inspection reports, and compliance registers up to date.
• Work closely with project managers, contractors, consultants, and client teams on all EHS matters.
• Promote behavioural safety and help build a strong, proactive safety culture on site.

Candidate profile

• B.Tech / B.E. in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or another relevant engineering branch.
• ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety) is compulsory.
• At least 5 years of applicable EHS experience in construction environments.
• Background in Data Centre, Industrial, Commercial, High-rise, MEP, or Mission Critical projects will be an advantage.
• Solid working knowledge of the BOCW Act, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, HIRA, JSA, Permit-to-Work systems, incident investigation, emergency response, fire safety, and contractor safety management.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder coordination abilities.

Additional information

Salary offered: INR 8,50,000 to 16,00,000 per year.
