Job Overview
This welder position requires on-site work at various industrial and manufacturing locations in Etobicoke, Ontario. The role demands the ability to work in physically challenging environments including outdoors, at heights, confined spaces, and dusty or noisy conditions.
Responsibilities
- Interpret welding process specifications accurately.
- Operate manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding machines.
- Read and understand welding blueprints, drawings, and instruction manuals.
- Inspect welds to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment for metalworking.
- Assess the weldability of different materials.
- Handle welding machinery previously set up to fabricate or repair metal components.
- Operate brazing or soldering equipment to join or fill metal parts effectively.
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering machines.
Experience and Specializations
- Experienced with aluminum alloys, steel, iron, and other heavy metals.
- Specialized in factory assembly settings.
Additional Information
- Requires willingness to travel, including regular travel, holding a valid driver's license.
- Work is fast-paced and physically demanding involving repetitive tasks and handling loads up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
- Physical requirements include manual dexterity, extended standing or sitting, good hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail.
- Personal protective equipment required includes steel-toed safety boots.
- Strong interpersonal abilities, excellent communication skills, flexibility, punctuality, organization, teamwork, dedication, and resourcefulness are essential.
