Overview
This role is a fixed-term contract at Marks & Spencer, based in London, focusing on creating visual merchandising (VM) concepts and delivering three-dimensional visuals for in-store campaigns across retail spaces.
Role Summary
The position calls for delivering creative VM solutions consistent with campaign briefs. The role involves designing displays for windows, first bites, and department elevations, working with marketing and key stakeholders to develop a cohesive VM identity that enhances the customer experience and drives commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Create 3D visuals and instore creative responses aligned with seasonal campaigns.
- Establish a distinct visual handwriting for in-store design following brand direction.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on space utilization including product placement and mannequins to maintain a strong VM identity.
- Support marketing in establishing scalable formats suitable for varying store concepts.
- Manage timelines and delivery of marketing briefs ensuring sign off and cost efficiency.
- Visualize end-to-end creative campaigns spanning the entire store, such as Christmas displays.
- Maintain awareness of cross-business initiatives to identify and leverage opportunities for synergy and efficiency.
- Oversee briefing and management of samples and prototypes.
- Focus on customer engagement by ensuring designs inspire and facilitate easy shopping.
- Continuously review store deliveries to understand design impacts and gather feedback.
- Lead as a creative expert in the team by tracking market trends and competitor activities.
- Utilize AI tools to develop concepts, plan, identify trends, and drive innovation within the instore experience.
- Support elevated customer experience delivery within renewal stores.
Candidate Profile
- Strong creative ability with clear articulation of visual concepts.
- Deep understanding of retail space design and creative application in store environments.
- Knowledgeable about VM and styling fundamentals.
- Excellent communication and presentation capabilities.
- Commercially astute with an awareness of business impacts.
- Proficient in design software and tools such as SketchUp, Adobe Suite, Miro, Excel, PowerPoint, and AI technologies.
