Utility Worker

Role overview

As a Utility Worker with Sodexo at Eastman Company UPA in Kingsport, you will help keep kitchen and facility service areas clean, organized, and sanitary. The role supports food production and service operations by handling cleaning tasks, maintaining equipment and storage spaces, moving supplies, and helping with basic setup and cleanup as needed.

Work schedule

This is a weekday-only position with specific shifts. Exact shift timing will be shared during the interview process.

Key duties

• Manually wash dishes or operate a dishwashing machine.
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and otherwise maintain floor cleanliness.
• Collect and remove waste to the proper disposal areas.
• Use approved cleaning chemicals to keep equipment sanitary.
• Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and cleaning products.
• Support tasks that involve regular walking and moving around the site.
• Remain on your feet or walking for long periods, including shifts that may run beyond 8 hours.
• Frequently bend, reach, stoop, push, and pull, and lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Arrive on time and maintain reliable attendance for scheduled shifts.
• Carry out other assigned duties based on operational needs and client requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• No prior related work experience is required.
• Understanding of sanitation practices, including basic food safety principles.
