Role overview
We are looking for a USM Specialist to play a key role in analysis, commercial decision-making, and day-to-day operations. The position supports engine programs and inventory plans through sourcing, valuation, and supplier coordination.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, source, and purchase used serviceable material as well as new engine parts to support engine programmes and stock strategies.
- Review engine teardown opportunities by assessing costs, potential yield, and timing to improve overall return.
- Handle supplier partnerships, negotiate commercial terms and pricing, and follow up to ensure materials are delivered on time.
- Track inventory performance, spot ways to reduce excess stock and obsolescence, and help increase asset value.
- Create valuation tools and study market information to inform procurement choices and pricing decisions.
- Work with technical, commercial, and finance stakeholders to keep sourcing activity aligned with wider business goals.
Experience and capabilities
The ideal candidate should bring 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in aviation procurement, USM, or engine materials, preferably within an MRO or aftermarket setting. A solid grasp of engine parts, LLPs, teardown activities, and asset valuation is essential. The role also calls for proven strength in supplier negotiation, contract administration, and inventory improvement, along with sharp analytical thinking, strong communication, and the ability to stay organised in a fast-moving cross-functional environment.
What the role offers
This opportunity provides close involvement in engine programmes, asset strategy, and commercial decisions, along with a collaborative workplace and good scope for professional growth.
