Position Overview

We are currently inviting applicants to join our Wastewater team based in Central Hawke's Bay. Candidates possessing relevant water industry qualifications and a strong background are highly encouraged to apply. This role involves collaborating with a team of operational experts to manage the operations and upkeep of reticulation networks and associated infrastructure, adhering strictly to operational procedures and compliance standards. A valid driver’s license is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Veolia and Central Hawkes Bay District Council management teams
• Provide guidance and support to the Wastewater Treatment team, including helping prioritize tasks
• Contribute to meeting all wastewater treatment performance metrics
• Offer advice and support on operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment processes and systems
• Engage in developing and executing wastewater quality and environmental improvement initiatives
• Take part in an operator level on-call roster

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possession of NZQA or equivalent professional/trade certification in Water and/or Wastewater network construction or operations and maintenance
• Experience in a similar capacity with an understanding of water and wastewater infrastructure, systems, processes, and standards
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment operations, maintenance responsibilities, and their criticality
• Awareness of resource consents and their importance
• Familiarity with SCADA systems
