With over two decades of expertise, FSM delivers cost-efficient and environmentally responsible solutions that surpass composting and landfill methods. The company operates a DAFM-authorized facility in County Meath, processing a diverse array of packaged foods, including meat, dairy, cereals, vegetables, canned products, beverages, and glass. FSM manages a fleet of 40 trucks, providing services nationwide and converting surplus food into energy, thus supporting a sustainable economy with a dependable “Clean bin Every Time” service.
Role Overview
The Transport Co-ordinator role is a full-time, on-site position located in Trim. This position entails managing and coordinating daily transportation operations for FSM's fleet. Duties include planning vehicle routes and schedules, assigning drivers and vehicles appropriately, overseeing collections and deliveries to maintain punctuality and efficiency across Ireland, and maintaining clear communication with customers, drivers, and internal teams.
The role also involves resolving logistical issues, maintaining accurate transport documentation, updating data systems with collection information, ensuring compliance with transportation and safety laws, assisting with vehicle maintenance scheduling, and enhancing transport operations continuously. This position is key to sustaining high-quality service standards while advancing FSM’s sustainability initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Strong operations and transportation management experience to effectively coordinate fleet activities, logistics, and route planning.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities to interact confidently with drivers, clients, and internal teams.
- Highly organized, capable of managing schedules, documentation, and diverse tasks efficiently in a fast-moving environment.
- Preferably experienced in transport or logistics coordination within waste management, recycling, or food sectors.
- Familiarity with transportation regulations, health and safety requirements, and basic fleet management is advantageous.
- Proficient in scheduling software, spreadsheet tools, and general computer applications with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work on-site in Trim, make autonomous decisions, and collaborate effectively in a team-oriented setting.
