Maaden, founded in 1997, is a rapidly expanding mining company and the largest diversified mining and metals group in the Middle East. The organization is working to help develop Saudi Arabia’s mining sector into the country’s third economic pillar through a fully integrated and world-class mining value chain.
Purpose of the role
The role is responsible for leading and controlling end-to-end training delivery and workforce readiness for Maaden Aluminum. It ensures training plans are practical, compliant, audit-ready, and aligned with operational needs, safety requirements, and Career Management governance across Ras Al Khair and Al Ba’itha.
Key responsibilities
- Convert Career Management and business-unit workforce requirements into a single annual and rolling training execution plan that covers operational, technical, leadership, compliance, and qualification programs.
- Bring together inputs from Operations, EHSS, Organizational Development, and line leaders so training plans can be executed around production needs, shutdown periods, and site limitations.
- Manage the full training operations process, including intake, nominations, approvals, scheduling, delivery, attendance checks, and record keeping.
- Ensure smooth delivery of CDP, JQP, PDP, EAP, COOP, English language programs, site-based training, vendor-led courses, and internal technical sessions.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures, service expectations, and operating rhythms for the Training Operations team.
- Oversee mandatory training compliance and readiness across the Aluminum business unit, including inductions, refresher sessions, certifications, and emergency preparedness training.
- Control the EHSS and mandatory training matrix, follow up on overdue items, and escalate serious compliance gaps to business-unit leadership.
- Own the governance of assessment systems such as QMP, including question banks, exam integrity, user access controls, and assessment lifecycle standards.
- Manage training analytics, dashboards, KPI definitions, data quality checks, and leadership reporting packs.
- Support Operations by equipping Department Capability and Safety Training Leads with standards, tools, and governance for OJT, practical verification, and safety-critical approvals.
- Enable role-based learning journeys, assessor and coach readiness, and risk-based competence verification approaches.
- Ensure all training and competence records are complete and audit-ready, covering attendance, certificates, assessments, OJT, and practical verification.
- Maintain disciplined storage, traceability, and retention of evidence through approved SharePoint, Teams, and system structures.
- Serve as a senior point of contact for Operations leadership, EHSS, OD, Finance, IT, and external partners.
- Manage training vendors, assessment providers, and system suppliers according to contracts, SLAs, quality standards, and cost expectations.
- Lead, coach, and develop the training team through goal setting, performance management, capability building, and succession planning.
- Promote standardization, process improvement, automation, and shorter cycle times across training delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Engineering, Education, or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding of training operations, compliance training governance, and stakeholder management in an industrial setting.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence using reporting tools; experience with LMS and assessment platforms is preferred.
- 8 to 12 years of experience in training operations, capability development, or workforce readiness roles in manufacturing, mining, or heavy industry.
Additional information
Working hours are 8 hours per day. The role is full time and based onsite in Ras Al Khair, Saudi Arabia.
