About The Opportunity
Arootah is collaborating with a confidential alternative investment management firm to recruit a Trading & Operations Manager for their expanding team. This role offers the chance to join a nimble, entrepreneurial investment company where you'll substantially contribute to both trading execution and investment operations. The successful candidate will engage closely with senior leadership, contributing to the development of scalable operational frameworks as the firm grows.

Responsibilities
- Carry out and support daily trading activities across various client portfolios.
- Manage investment operations for multiple products including separately managed accounts (SMAs).
- Administer trade settlements, cash flow transactions, account activities, and portfolio rebalancing processes.
- Collaborate with custodians, brokers, counterparties, and external vendors to guarantee smooth operational execution.
- Assist with operational due diligence and investor reporting efforts.
- Oversee operational controls and proactively seek ways to enhance workflows and scalability.
- Work closely with senior executives on strategic projects and continual process improvements.
- Perform additional trading and operational duties as the organization expands.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience managing trading operations, investment operations, middle office functions, or comparable roles in asset management, hedge funds, family offices, or advisory firms.
- Proven experience supporting institutional investment products and separately managed account platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of trade lifecycle management, investment operations, and cash handling procedures.
- Required equity trading experience; familiarity with listed options is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience interacting with custodians, prime brokers, and other investment service providers.
- Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Capability to work autonomously in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong communication prowess and ability to manage professional relationships effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in supporting hedge funds and separately managed account platforms.
- Knowledge of order management and portfolio management systems.
- Experience engaging in operational due diligence meetings or addressing institutional investor inquiries.
- Aspirations to evolve into broader leadership responsibilities as the firm grows.
