Role Purpose
The Support Worker will deliver comprehensive, individualised care to people with physical and intellectual disabilities or autism within residential environments. Working collaboratively with each individual's support network, the role aims to foster independence, promote community involvement, and support equal citizenship.
Key Requirements
- Applicants must have unrestricted legal entitlement to work in Ireland, such as Stamp 4 or EU/EEA/UK citizenship; no visa sponsorship is provided.
- A valid full driving license is mandatory.
- The candidate should hold at minimum a QQI Level 5 qualification in Health or Social Care or an equivalent credential.
- Applicants must be aged 25 years or older to satisfy insurance conditions.

Job Details and Compensation
- Salary range: €32,240 to €40,013 annually.
- Work locations include Mallow and Leamlara in County Cork.
- Employment type: Full-time and part-time positions are available.
- Working hours comprise 12-hour shifts: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, with scheduling flexibility to ensure round-the-clock coverage.
- Reporting line: Directly reports to the Team Lead.
- Initial probation period lasts six months, with mandatory reference checking, Garda vetting, and international security clearance if applicant has lived abroad for more than six months after age 16.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist service users with daily living tasks including personal hygiene and mobility.
- Encourage and support independence and active participation in community life.
- Advocate for service users, aiding them in developing and reviewing care plans.
- Accompany individuals to appointments and facilitate social engagement activities.
- Implement positive behavior support strategies to manage challenging behaviors.
- Maintain thorough documentation and engage in team meetings to coordinate care.
- Duties may evolve to meet changing service requirements as directed by management.
