Superflex Roadside Mechanic - Southampton

About the Role

Join RAC as a Superflex Roadside Mechanic, where flexibility is highly valued. In this role, you will provide vital roadside assistance across Southampton and nearby areas like Eastleigh, Totton, Romsey, Hedge End, Bishop’s Waltham, and Winchester. You will work locally, starting and finishing at home, focusing on delivering prompt service to members in your region.

Working Hours and Salary

You will average 40 hours weekly, with shifts scheduled between 06:00 and 02:00, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Rosters are provided seven days ahead, with core hours confirmed three days before. The role offers a competitive base salary of £50,669, with the potential to earn up to £57,000 through bonuses and overtime.

What You Will Need

• Either an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance with a minimum of two years’ experience, or at least five years working as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than six penalty points.

What We Provide

From the outset, you will have your own RAC van equipped with fuel card, uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit, ensuring you are ready for each service call.

Responsibilities

• Provide varied roadside repairs including fault diagnostics, tyre changes, and battery replacements.
• Manage your vehicle, tools, and equipment efficiently to maintain readiness.
• Assess situations calmly and accurately to offer the best solutions for members.
• Handle administrative reports and maintain accurate records of each call-out.
