About the Role
Are you intrigued by a career in engineering consultancy? Aurecon invites curious and determined problem solvers to turn complex challenges into clear solutions. This paid 12-week summer internship program offers hands-on experience in both technical and advisory roles within a leading engineering consultancy. Located in Auckland and Christchurch, the opportunity is open for students studying Chemical or Process Engineering eager to learn and develop their consultancy skills.
Internship Experience
- Join either the Energy & Industrial team, engaging with sectors including dairy, manufacturing, fuel infrastructure, and renewable energy.
- Or participate with the Land & Water team, focusing on water and wastewater treatment projects to benefit sustainable communities.
- Work alongside multidisciplinary teams across the Asia Pacific region.
- Connect with peers and professionals through Limelight, the early careers community.
- Learn from seasoned industry leaders and technical experts.
- Explore potential progression pathways into the Graduate Program.
Support and Development
The program is designed to enhance your technical expertise, build confidence in consulting, and provide insight into diverse career paths. You will be supported by a team leader, a buddy, and a dedicated early careers team. Participation in Intern Learning and Leadership Series will help you refine your professional skills, expand your network, and understand interdisciplinary project delivery.

Candidate Requirements
- Currently enrolled in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field, preferably in second-to-last year of study.
- Interest in industrial process engineering for manufacturing and processing industries, or water and wastewater treatment supporting communities and environmental sustainability.
- Availability for full-time engagement over 12 weeks from mid-November 2026 to February 2027, including a two-week break during Christmas and New Year.
- A curious mindset, effective communication skills, and willingness to collaborate.
