Steward - HFX

Role overview

Reporting to the Sous Chef(s) and the Chef de Cuisine, this role is responsible for keeping all kitchen-related spaces clean and orderly. The steward supports dishwashing, basic prep work, cooking areas, and storage zones, while also contributing to the guest experience standards expected in a casino entertainment setting.

Key duties

• Clean and sanitize kitchen tools, plates, utensils, and equipment.
• Operate dishwashing machines and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
• Complete all assigned tasks promptly and accurately, following company procedures and applicable health, safety, and food-handling rules.
• Help maintain a consistently high level of service for both internal teams and outside guests.
• Contribute to the workplace culture by bringing energy, focus, and a positive attitude.
• Support the delivery of memorable entertainment experiences for guests.

Qualifications and skills

• Grade 12 or an equivalent level of education is an advantage.
• Ability to lift up to 25 kg.
• Comfortable working quickly and under pressure in a busy environment.
• WHMIS knowledge is considered an asset.
• Prior stewarding experience is an asset.
• Strong ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Works well in a team setting.
• Must be adaptable to different shifts.
• Friendly, detail-oriented, upbeat, and outgoing personality.

Work environment

This position is based in a casino and cage environment, which may involve standing or sitting for extended periods and working non-standard hours.
