Role overview
Reporting to the Sous Chef(s) and the Chef de Cuisine, this role is responsible for keeping all kitchen-related spaces clean and orderly. The steward supports dishwashing, basic prep work, cooking areas, and storage zones, while also contributing to the guest experience standards expected in a casino entertainment setting.
Key duties
- Clean and sanitize kitchen tools, plates, utensils, and equipment.
- Operate dishwashing machines and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
- Complete all assigned tasks promptly and accurately, following company procedures and applicable health, safety, and food-handling rules.
- Help maintain a consistently high level of service for both internal teams and outside guests.
- Contribute to the workplace culture by bringing energy, focus, and a positive attitude.
- Support the delivery of memorable entertainment experiences for guests.
Qualifications and skills
- Grade 12 or an equivalent level of education is an advantage.
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg.
- Comfortable working quickly and under pressure in a busy environment.
- WHMIS knowledge is considered an asset.
- Prior stewarding experience is an asset.
- Strong ability to multitask and stay organized.
- Works well in a team setting.
- Must be adaptable to different shifts.
- Friendly, detail-oriented, upbeat, and outgoing personality.
Work environment
This position is based in a casino and cage environment, which may involve standing or sitting for extended periods and working non-standard hours.
