Software Tester Consultant

Role overview

This consulting role is focused on building and sustaining automated test coverage for web-based applications. The selected professional will help shape the automation approach, strengthen testing reliability, and support products that are used within the Financial Industry for Financial Supervision purposes. The position is based in Singapore and is designed for onsite engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Create, update, and support automated test scripts with Selenium or Cypress.
• Work closely with development and QA colleagues to interpret testing needs and define suitable test strategies.
• Run automated test suites to check functionality, uncover defects, and help deliver dependable releases.
• Improve automation frameworks so they cover more scenarios and run with better efficiency and stability.
• Review test outcomes and communicate clear quality-related findings to relevant stakeholders.
• Take part in code reviews, help raise coding standards, and share effective practices with the team.
• Keep track of current automation trends and bring useful tools and methods into the testing workflow.
• Support ongoing improvement of the software delivery lifecycle by promoting automation and efficient testing practices.
• Apply knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman or Swagger.
• Use containerization knowledge, including Docker, where relevant.
• Operate effectively in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Requirements

• Ideally, candidates should have more than 5 years of experience in software testing with Selenium and Cypress.
• Strong programming ability in JavaScript or Python is needed.
• Hands-on familiarity with web technologies such as HTML and CSS.
• Experience using version control tools like Git and CI tools such as Jenkins.
• Good understanding of testing concepts, methods, and best practices.
• Strong analytical thinking and careful attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for continuous learning and improvement.
