Role Overview

As a Software Engineer at Notion, you will contribute to core user features and enhance product value for millions of users. This role offers autonomy in tackling challenges, overseeing projects from conception to deployment, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to shape the future of work in the AI era. New graduate engineers will be placed on teams aligned with their interests for maximum impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate in designing, developing, and maintaining new product features from initial idea through research, implementation, and upkeep.
• Enhance product performance and reliability, improve existing features such as spell check and search capabilities.
• Create internal tools aimed at improving team productivity and simplicity including automation and feedback integration scripts.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field; must be available to start full-time before July 27, 2026.
• Previous internship experience is expected.
• Working knowledge of programming languages including TypeScript, Node.js, or Python.

• Stay updated with cutting-edge tools such as Codex and Claude Code, choosing pragmatic solutions that maximize user value.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to decompose complex issues and develop clean solutions, seeking help when necessary.
• Proactively take ownership of projects, communicate progress clearly, and work independently to drive initiatives forward.
• Collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and foster a growth mindset both personally and amongst peers.
• Passion for web technologies, skilled in crafting and maintaining high-quality user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React.
• Basic understanding of backend systems and databases such as Postgres, MySQL, or MongoDB is advantageous.

Compensation & Benefits

Notion offers competitive salary, equity, and benefits packages. For San Francisco roles, estimated salary ranges from 126000 to 146000 USD annually, adjusted according to experience and role complexity.
