Social Media Manager

Role Summary

We are inviting a creative and driven individual to volunteer as a Social Media Manager, supporting the promotion of our TEDx event. This position is integral in expanding our event's visibility and engaging our community across popular social media networks.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and implement an all-encompassing social media plan tailored to advance the objectives of the TEDx event
• Generate and curate captivating content such as textual posts, graphics, videos, and infographics for various social channels
• Oversee and grow our presence on platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter
• Address comments, messages, and inquiries promptly with professionalism
• Work collaboratively with the event team to strategize and run social media campaigns
• Evaluate social media analytics and produce routine performance and engagement reports
• Remain informed on current trends and effective practices in social media to suggest innovative outreach techniques

Qualifications

• Deep enthusiasm for social media interaction and alignment with the TED/TEDx mission
• Strong written and oral communication abilities
• Experience utilizing tools for social media management and analysis
• Creativity in producing fresh content ideas and concepts
• Preference for candidates with background in social media marketing or digital communication, though not mandatory
• Capability to work autonomously from a remote setting
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities effectively

Time Involvement

This volunteer role demands roughly 3 to 6 hours weekly, with potential increased hours approaching the event date.
