Job description
Overview
The Portfolio Management Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting Retail Small Business leadership and relationship managers by managing the Small Business loan portfolio effectively. This includes collecting and tracking required financial statements, monitoring delinquencies, managing maturing loans, facilitating loan modifications, supporting portfolio transfers, and ensuring data accuracy. Collaboration with relationship managers, credit teams, operations, and compliance is essential to maintain portfolio quality and deliver outstanding customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere strictly to Northwest Bank's policies and applicable Federal and State regulations.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and department-specific software efficiently to optimize productivity.
- Collaborate within a team environment.
- Operate on-site office equipment as necessary.
- Track, request, and collect financial statements from borrowers within specified deadlines.
- Monitor overdue payments and perform outreach to resolve delinquencies.
- Coordinate loan modifications, including entering data into the Loan Origination System (LOS) and managing the closing process.
- Generate, distribute, and verify loan management reports promptly.
- Run and reconcile portfolio reports such as past dues, upcoming maturities, and financial statements, escalating issues appropriately.
- Help manage collateral requirements, ensuring insurance policies are up to date.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries and resolve problems to ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Support relationship managers in maintaining timely and accurate portfolio management in line with loan terms and policies.
- Use Abrigo software proficiently for full functionality and data field updates.
- Maintain organized loan document files and records.
- Serve as a liaison with internal departments, vendors, and auditors as required.
- Assume office management duties when needed.
- Ensure document and data integrity, identifying and coordinating fixes with partners across operations and credit.
- Maintain understanding of loan documentation standards.
- Build and nurture relationships with small business clients.
- Maximize use of technology tools and develop expertise in small business-related software applications.
- Ensure loan compliance with agreed terms.
- Recommend procedural improvements and enhancements in service delivery.
Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Preferred 3 to 5 years experience in business banking operations, processing, or administration.
- Experience with core banking or loan origination platforms is favored.
- Detail-oriented and collaborative; capable of handling multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient knowledge of systems including Abrigo, Nautilus, Signature, and shared network drives.
- Sound understanding of Small Business loan products.
Compensation
The typical salary range is $26 to $31 hourly, with actual pay determined by candidate experience, skills, and qualifications.
