Role Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Senior Supply Chain Operations Manager for our Maidenhead office to lead and shape the supply chain operations across the UK and Ireland. This role offers a significant leadership opportunity to helm an experienced team and manage pivotal transformation projects in logistics, customer fulfilment, inventory, and digital commerce. Candidates with backgrounds in FMCG, consumer healthcare, or similarly fast-paced sectors will find a rewarding blend of strategic influence and operational responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the UK Supply Chain Operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Manage logistics, customer fulfilment, inventory control, replenishment, and distribution planning across multiple sales channels including wholesale, pharmacy, retail, Amazon, and e-commerce.
- Design and implement the annual Supply Chain Operations roadmap aligning with commercial goals and growth strategies.
- Collaborate closely with Commercial, Finance, Quality, Regulatory, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and Global Supply teams as a principal partner.
- Maintain oversight on inventory governance, stock accuracy, reconciliation, batch traceability, and operational controls across ERP, third-party logistics (3PL), and digital platforms.
- Lead major transformation projects such as insourcing Order-to-Cash, integrating EDI systems, managing warehouse tenders and transitions, network optimisation, and system enhancements.
- Monitor and manage performance metrics and service levels of 3PLs, carriers, and fulfilment partners against set targets for cost, compliance, and service.
- Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) by aligning inventory, demand, supply capabilities, and operational priorities.
- Track and improve key performance indicators like OTIF (On Time In Full), customer service levels, inventory accuracy, logistics cost efficiency, inbound performance, and fulfilment standards.
- Drive initiatives for cost savings, process improvements, and operational excellence across warehousing, transportation, and distribution sectors.
- Ensure robust stock availability for product launches, promotional campaigns, Amazon, e-commerce, and other commercial activities.
- Oversee logistics and warehousing budgets, inventory provisions, accruals, and working capital performance jointly with finance.
- Facilitate issue resolution and manage escalation regarding warehousing, transport, inventory, and fulfilment challenges.
- Guarantee compliance with internal policies, regulatory demands, and Good Distribution Practice standards where applicable.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated leadership in logistics, planning, or broader supply chain functions.
- Expertise in managing outsourced warehouses, third-party logistics, carriers, and fulfilment partners.
- Proven track record in supply chain transformation projects including warehouse transitions and operational improvements.
- Experience with customer EDI, ERP integrations, and Order-to-Cash process management.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, replenishment planning, and distribution networks.
- Proficient with ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and analytical tools such as Power BI.
- Commercial insight balancing service quality, cost efficiency, inventory, and working capital.
- Background in FMCG, consumer healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or other regulated, fast-moving industries.
- Experience handling multiple sales channels including wholesale, pharmacy, retail, Amazon Vendor and Seller platforms, and e-commerce.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with leadership in project execution.
- Confidence in influencing senior stakeholders and fostering cross-functional cooperation.
- Proactive, hands-on approach with resilience to manage concurrent operational and strategic priorities.
