About the Role
Chef Middle East seeks an experienced Senior Procurement Executive responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory specifically for foodservice operations. This role requires strategic planning, outstanding negotiation capabilities, and the ability to cultivate durable supplier partnerships. The incumbent will focus on optimizing procurement procedures to achieve key objectives around product quality, cost efficiency, and punctual deliveries.
Primary Responsibilities
- Source and establish relationships with dependable suppliers for foodservice goods ensuring cost-effective quality.
- Maintain and enhance supplier connections to foster enduring contracts and advantageous terms.
- Regularly assess supplier performance based on timely delivery, product standards, and service quality.
- Formulate and implement procurement plans aligned with company goals and operational demands.
- Forecast demand changes proactively to prevent stock shortages or surpluses.
- Collaborate with logistics and operations to oversee inventory management and minimize wastage.
- Leverage data analytics to predict inventory requirements and refine purchasing cycles.
- Negotiate price points, agreements, and payment conditions to generate cost savings without sacrificing quality.
- Ensure all procurement stays within authorized budget constraints enhancing financial effectiveness.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and process refinements.
- Guarantee procurement adherence to company policies, food safety regulations, and applicable legal standards.
- Keep rigorous records of purchases, contracts, and supplier documentation up to date.
- Perform periodic audits to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Work closely with finance, operations, and sales to synchronize procurement with business needs.
- Coordinate with logistics to confirm timely deliveries and resolve shipping concerns.
- Offer procurement support for urgent or special projects involving other departments.
- Stay informed on industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging suppliers in the foodservice sector.
- Continuously seek to enhance procurement methods, shorten lead times, and boost operational efficiency.
- Adopt sustainable procurement practices aligned with the company’s environmental and customer value commitments.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications like CIPS or CPSM are advantageous.
- 3 to 5 years of procurement experience focused on foodservice or fast-moving consumer goods.
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
- Experience handling both international and local foodservice vendors.
