Senior Procurement Engineer (Civil)

Job Overview

Al Shirawi Interiors is looking for a Senior Procurement Engineer specializing in Civil Engineering to manage procurement operations for large-scale interior fit-out projects valued at AED 50 million and above.

Key Duties

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers that specialize in interior fit-out and MEP materials and services.
• Send enquiries to qualified vendors, follow up on received offers, and prepare comprehensive comparison charts for management approval.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather project requirements and maintain a detailed procurement log.
• Maximize company savings by selecting competitively priced products, benchmarking against market standards and similar suppliers, and preparing monthly savings reports.
• Ensure purchase orders (POs) contain accurate terms, pricing, payment conditions, and delivery schedules.
• Develop and nurture positive supplier relationships.
• Negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, and delivery conditions; quickly resolve any supplier disputes or issues.
• Verify that procured materials and services meet project quality standards and specifications.
• Monitor procurement expenses to align with budget targets.
• Identify strategies to reduce procurement costs and implement cost-saving measures.
• Assess and manage risks such as supplier delays, quality concerns, and price fluctuations.
• Review and ensure compliance with Letters of Credit and related shipping documentation.
• Coordinate import orders and shipments through effective collaboration with suppliers, shipping firms, and logistics teams.
• Maintain high ethical standards, ensuring transparency, confidentiality, and protection of company resources and reputation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 7 to 10 years of procurement experience in the interior fit-out industry.
• Strong knowledge of procurement procedures, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
• Proficient in procurement software, especially Oracle.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
• Capable of working efficiently under pressure and managing strict deadlines.
• Familiarity with local regulations and standards applicable to construction and interior fit-out projects.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
