Role Overview
Match Group seeks a Senior Director of Social Media to lead and refine Tinder’s social and integrated marketing approach throughout EMEA. This pivotal role manages the paid, owned, and earned media ecosystem, influencing Tinder’s cultural presence and audience engagement. Based preferably in Dublin (but also options for London or Paris), the role involves collaboration with a diverse and high-performing international team.
Key Responsibilities
- Steer Tinder’s editorial, creative, and influencer strategies across EMEA, ensuring a consistent brand voice with localized cultural sensitivity.
- Focus intensively on owned and earned media to enhance Tinder’s organic visibility on various platforms and markets.
- Serve as the regional liaison for key platform partners such as TikTok, Meta, and Google, directing editorial and content strategies.
- Promote knowledge sharing and best practice scaling across regional markets to boost effectiveness and consistency.
- Guarantee all initiatives and cultural moments are designed with social media in mind, integrated with influencer and talent strategies spanning music, fashion, sports, and entertainment sectors.
- Drive expansion of successful campaigns across multiple territories to maximize cross-market opportunities.
- Position social media at the nexus of marketing and communications to engage culturally, particularly with Gen Z, and secure Tinder’s relevancy in key trends and conversations.
- Provide strategic leadership within a matrixed environment, setting standards and guiding regional marketing and integrated communications teams.
- Foster innovation and experimentation with new social media formats, platform tactics, and product-led initiatives.
- Refine interdepartmental collaboration processes, including partnerships with legal teams.
- Collaborate closely with country-level integrated communications leads to enhance influencer, PR, and event approaches across EMEA.
- Advance growth in social channels by increasing reach, engagement, positive sentiment, and word-of-mouth impact to support top-funnel user acquisition.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least 7 years in senior roles managing social media strategy across EMEA for a global brand, preferably in direct-to-consumer or technology sectors, demonstrating innovation and integrated marketing success.
- Ability to translate creative visions and business goals into effective strategies with demonstrated successful outcomes and scalable practices.
- Experience with agencies or global media platforms is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strategic and creative thinker capable of aligning high-level concepts with executional precision.
- Inspirational leader and team player proficient in influencing and aligning diverse stakeholders in a matrix organization.
- Exceptional communication prowess, skilled in storytelling and delivering clear, compelling messages.
- Proven experience engaging senior executives and delivering impactful presentations.
- Fluent English required; proficiency in additional European languages (French, German, Italian, Spanish) is a significant asset.
