Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist specializing in AI and Synthetic Intelligence to join our London team. You will be instrumental in innovating AI solutions that enhance our product suite. This includes collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to integrate advanced machine learning models, including Large Language Models (LLMs), that enrich Cint Exchange with synthetic and human data signals. Your focus will span advanced data mining, rigorous validation, and development of statistical and machine learning techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead research and development of machine learning models focused on synthetic data generation, open-ended text generation, and data augmentation.
• Design and execute statistical experiments to validate LLM performance and synthetic data generation hypotheses.
• Develop dynamic boosting algorithms in partnership with engineering for integration into fielding workflows.
• Create and refine profiling taxonomies using large datasets to build syndicated audience groups.
• Independently handle complex projects from planning through maintenance with minimal oversight.
• Collaborate across Product, Engineering, and Strategy teams to align AI initiatives with business priorities, ensuring smooth MVP to scaled deployment.
• Produce clear prototypes and communicate sophisticated generative AI concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum five years of data science experience with leadership on complex projects.
• Master's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Data Science, or related quantitative fields.
• Extensive knowledge of Generative AI and LLMs, particularly for text and data synthesis applications.
• Proficient in advanced statistical methods including hypothesis testing, sampling, experimental design, and causal analysis.
• Strong grasp of diverse machine learning techniques such as clustering, regression, and neural networks.
• Expert-level Python skills within the data science and machine learning ecosystem; experienced with LLM development and fine-tuning frameworks.
• Advanced competency in SQL and handling of large-scale databases.
• Capacity to adopt innovative methods and mentor junior team members.
• Excellent communication skills with aptitude to explain complex AI concepts simply.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in synthetic data generation and quality evaluation.
• Familiarity with prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and open-source LLM fine-tuning.
• Knowledge of probabilistic modeling and sophisticated profiling techniques.
• Background in online market research or survey exchange platforms.
• Experience with Databricks, Spark, or PySpark for processing large datasets.
