Overview
EY invites applications for the position of Senior Consultant within the Tax Policy team, part of the International Tax & Transaction Services practice. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to complex projects and facilitate business growth by advising governments and policy makers in refining their tax policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver strategic advice for developing tax policies aligned with global best practices and regulatory developments.
- Assist tax and revenue authorities in executing effective tax and revenue frameworks.
- Support government strategies and engagement concerning international tax matters.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including legal, financial, economic, and public policy experts, to offer comprehensive solutions.
- Articulate insights through clear and persuasive presentations and documentation.
Candidate Profile and Skills
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to cultivate strong relationships with clients and communicate proficiently in English across various formats. Key attributes include risk assessment skills, the ability to perform thorough reviews with appropriate escalation, commercial awareness, teamwork, project management, planning, prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, budget monitoring, and pragmatic problem solving.
Qualification Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, taxation, or accounting.
- At least four years of hands-on experience in taxation roles.
- Background in a Big 4 accounting firm is preferred but candidates from government entities or international organizations will also be considered.
- Deep understanding of both domestic and international tax laws and tax authority practices.
- Proven ability to juggle multiple projects and engage with senior leaders effectively.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including experience in preparing technical memos and policy documents.
Desirable Experience
- Engagement experience with tax authorities, regulators, and industry organizations.
- Familiarity with OECD BEPS Action Plans, Pillar One and Two, and global minimum tax regulations.
- Client advisory experience involving multinational corporations.
