Role Overview
The Senior Bid Manager will serve as a key member of the Saudi Arabia Major Programmes team, collaborating closely with bid leads and stakeholders to coordinate and deliver compelling submissions and presentations. This role demands senior-level expertise in bid processes to craft distinct proposals that clearly showcase why clients should choose Turner & Townsend.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create and revise both technical and non-technical customized content with bid teams, ensuring on-schedule completion.
- Lead bid Kick Off, Win Theme, and Storyboard sessions for the team.
- Manage the entire bid and review processes proactively, communicating clear expectations for contributors and timelines.
- Integrate local insights, research data, and maintain adherence to organizational writing style and branding standards.
- Target submissions to specific audiences with evidence-backed and innovative content based on organizational expertise and best practices.
- Advise bid leads on added value features to strengthen proposals.
- Review and refine bid drafts following feedback from peers and directors.
- Tailor pen profiles and CVs to enhance presentation of proposed team members.
- Coordinate with graphic designers to produce impactful visuals that simplify complex concepts.
- Analyze post-submission tender information to enhance best practice materials.
- Contribute to delivering training on bid management and writing methodologies.
- Support reporting activities including pipeline status, conversion rates, and lessons learned.
- Collaborate with leadership to proactively manage opportunity pipeline and advise on strategic focus areas.
Required Skills and Behaviours
- Effective, proactive communication with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong self-management skills with the ability to plan ahead and seek assistance when needed.
- Capability to shape bid and pursuit strategies, influence senior technical and commercial leaders, and challenge existing approaches to enhance outcomes.
- Advanced writing and editing proficiency in English, including critical content assessment, tone harmonization, and consistency maintenance.
- Original content writing for executive summaries and other bid sections.
- Detail-oriented proofreading skills to ensure accuracy.
- Critical thinking to consistently produce high-quality bid content within deadlines.
Qualifications
- Over 15 years of bidding and business development experience in professional services, ideally including project management consultancy in the built environment, with some experience preferred in the Middle East.
- Degree in Engineering, Business, or related fields.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint; familiarity with design software like InDesign is a plus.
- APMP Foundation certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Membership in a recognized professional institution is desirable.
