Overview
WhizzHR is recruiting an experienced Diesel/Fuel Oil Trader to join their Dubai office. The role involves spearheading and expanding trading operations for various fuel oil products including High, Low, and Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil, Marine Fuel, and other related petroleum items. The candidate will handle sourcing, marketing, contract negotiation, risk management, and relationship building within regional and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the fuel oil trading activities across regional and global markets, sourcing products and cultivating partnerships with refineries, suppliers, traders, and end-users.
- Engage in buying and selling activities, negotiating contracts to enhance profit margins.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor movements, vessel logistics, refinery activities, and supply-demand dynamics to identify new business opportunities and arbitrage.
- Assess commercial, operational, and credit risks connected with transactions, coordinating with finance on credit exposure.
- Oversee smooth transaction execution working closely with suppliers, logistics, inspection, and operations teams, resolving operational issues involving loading, documentation, and quality.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key market entities and actively participate in industry events and networking to boost market presence.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
- At least five years of proven experience in fuel oil or petroleum trading with a successful track record in profitable trade generation.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and risk evaluation skills with deep understanding of fuel oil market pricing.
- Knowledge of international trade terms, shipping logistics, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and market intelligence tools.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Performance Metrics
- Achievement of monthly trading volume and gross profit targets.
- Successful acquisition of suppliers and customers.
- Execution of trades with adherence to company policies.
- Contribution through market intelligence and identifying new business prospects.
Preferred Experience
- Trading experience with High, Low, and Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil products.
- Exposure to Marine/Bunker fuels and related distillates.
