Role Overview
We seek a Safer Gambling Specialist who will play an integral role in fulfilling Betfair's safer gambling commitments. This position involves analyzing customer behaviors to detect and support individuals potentially at risk of gambling-related harm.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed investigations into responsible gambling red flags on customer accounts and take appropriate actions.
- Analyze and audit Betfair’s responsible gambling policies and functions through comprehensive data evaluations.
- Engage with customers identified through red flag reports to offer safer gambling resources and advice.
- Prepare scheduled reports on responsible gambling metrics by gathering data and providing meaningful insights.
- Assist in facilitating safer gambling training, including session delivery and content development.
- Contribute to projects aimed at enhancing Betfair’s safer gambling framework and practices.
- Serve as a liaison for responsible gambling inquiries, establishing strong interdepartmental and external relationships.
- Collaborate with Fraud, Due Diligence, and Customer Service teams to ensure cohesive management of account information and customer interactions.
- Develop expert knowledge of both Betfair Exchange and CrownBet operations, including customer betting behavior and product offerings.
- Promote ongoing education about Northern Territory Racing Commission (NTRC) regulations and responsible gambling procedures within the company.
- Undertake any additional tasks or duties relevant to one’s skills and expertise as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Proven proficiency in data analysis and pattern recognition.
- Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel effectively.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, inclusive of weekends.
- Proactive work ethic and a flexible, cooperative attitude.
- Awareness of responsible gambling indicators and wagering strategies.
- Understanding of the regulatory frameworks governing Betfair, including the Northern Territory Code of Practice for Responsible Online Gambling.
- Ability to foster productive relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strong conceptual and analytical thinking with autonomy in work.
Preferred but Not Mandatory
- Familiarity with open-source investigative tools and methods.
- Experience in the wagering industry.
- Experience in customer interactions via phone.
